This policy sets out how GulfHindi.com decides what to publish, how we check it, and what we do when we get it wrong. It applies to every writer, editor and contributor.
Editorial decisions are made without input from advertisers, sponsors, political parties or government bodies. No advertiser has, or is offered, influence over what we cover or how we cover it. We do not accept payment to publish, alter or remove a news article.
We keep three things visibly distinct:
Every article carries a named byline linking to an author page with that writer's beat, background and contact details. Where a story turns on specialist knowledge — immigration law, labour regulation, aviation — we say what the writer's basis for it is, or we quote someone who has it.
Named, on-record sources are the default. We grant anonymity only where a source faces a real risk from being named, and when we do, the article explains why and what the source's vantage point is. Confidentiality granted to a source is honoured absolutely.
Where a story is critical of a named person or organisation, we make a reasonable attempt to reach them for comment before publication, and the article says whether we succeeded.
Headlines must reflect what the article actually reports. We do not write clickbait, and we do not use an image, thumbnail or video still that misrepresents the story. Stock and file images are labelled as such.
Breaking stories are updated as facts firm up. Substantive updates carry a timestamp. Where an update changes the meaning of what was published earlier, we say what changed — we do not overwrite it silently. See our corrections policy.
We use AI tools in parts of our production process. How, and what the limits are, is set out in full on our AI policy page.
We adhere to the Norms of Journalistic Conduct of the Press Council of India, the Programme Code where applicable, and the DNPA Code of Ethics.
